I tried to get in touch with Tumblr, but I suppose my message got lost in more immediate concerns. Either that or I sent it to the wrong place!
So I’m just as well going to ask here. Does anyone know if there’s any indication “photographers on tumblr" might become a featured tag along the lines of "artists on tumblr”? Lensblr did a good job spreading word of this tag, and I was under the impression that if enough people used it, Tumblr would consider getting it featured. These days I see it used all over.
There are a lot of photographers, amateurs and professionals on this site, and it would do a lot for our sense of community to have a recognized tag. And “artists on tumblr" quite regularly features photographers from tumblr, but only a small percentage, and obviously just of the artistic kind. It’s worth putting some pressure on Tumblr about this.
Created with the intention of bringing original landscape photographers together on Tumblr, The Landscape Network is looking to add photographers to its directory. Please submit your images to us, and if you’d like to be a part of the network (blog must be your original photography and post…
Tire skidmarks, Vesterålen, Norway by Jonas Bendiksen.
Celebrated Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen is working at a small town newspaper in northern Norway. Why? I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I do know I don’t want to die without ever having worked for one of these fine purveyors of information.”
